PROJECT IMAGINE… YOUR FUTURE

SPHERE-Québec is happy to present its new pilot scheme Imagine… your future. Submitted for a request of proposal to Social Development Partnerships Program - Disability (SDPP-D), of the Human Resources and Skills Development Canada Department, the project will be developed before July 2011.

SPHERE-Québec team works with important partners to present new intervention tools available for stakehorders in Eastern Township, Ontario, Manitoba and New Brunswick.

Context:

Difficulties to join the labor market met by young persons with disabilities are known. Considering that the lack of adapted tools contributes to this difficulty of adaptation when the transition from school to work is made, SPHERE-Québec initiated the creation of the project Imagine… your future. The project’s goal is to develop and to test a toolbox allowing interveners to put young handicapped persons in touch with their own capacities in the labor market, and doing so to increase their chances to join employment.

Project’s goals:

• Familiarize young handicapped persons with de labor market by an approach of creative and structured orientation;
• Equip the interveners and doing so, improve services offered to young handicapped;
• Make the employers aware of a workforce pool.

Targeted clientele:

Young handicapped persons, any deficiencies, who, in their school path, are in a professional process of orientation.
